Bahraini man fined for beating wife
Manama : The Supreme Appeals Court upheld the BD100 fine issued against a Bahraini man accused of physically assaulting his wife.
“I came home late because I had an appointment in the hospital. When I returned, he accused me of going out with someone. When I denied, he beat me on my head, hand as well as my back. He also threatened me,” the woman told prosecutors.
Earlier the wife had alleged that the man attempted to stain her reputation by disseminating rumours against her through social networks.
On inspecting the man’s twitter account, authorities found inciting comments against the regime and police officers. Thus another complaint was filed against him by the competent authorities.
