Fans urged to support to Bahrain's AFC U-19 team
Manama : Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar yesterday urged Bahrain supporters to flock to Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town for Bahrain’s crucial match against South Korea in the AFC U-19 Football Championship.
After their sensational last-minute 3-2 victory over two-time champions Saudi Arabia on Thursday, Bahrain will look to secure their berth in the second round of the competition, if they claim their second successive victory tonight with the match kicking off at 7.30pm.
Askar congratulated the team on their performance and the efforts of the team management, which played a key role in the victory over the Saudis.
He hoped a large presence of Bahrain fans today will motivate team members against the 12-time winners.
