Economic ties with Turkey stressed

ManamaBahrain and Turkey should continue to explore a range of opportunities for economic collaboration and every effort should be made to build on the success of previous bilateral agreements across various sectors, said the Deputy King, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The Deputy King pointed out that the strength of bilateral ties between Bahrain and Turkey had contributed to a united vision for both countries across a range of mutual interests, particularly with respect to regional security and stability.

Prince Salman made the remarks during his meeting with Turkey’s Chief Adviser for Middle East Affairs, Sefer Turan, and an accompanying delegation, at Gudaibiya Palace here yesterday.

During the meeting, the Deputy King highlighted His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directive to continue strengthening ties with Turkey. “It demonstrates the importance Bahrain places on the bilateral relationship and the recognition of Turkey’s pivotal role in progressing regional development,” he remarked.

Prince Salman went on to acknowledge the many existing areas of Bahraini-Turkish cooperation, saying that the countries’ bilateral cooperation had been strengthened by State visits, including His Majesty King Hamad’s most recent visit to Turkey.

Meanwhile, Turan expressed appreciation for Prince Salman’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation, which has contributed to the development of both countries.
