Bahrain jails expat in drug case
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Pakistani man to three years behind bars after being caught at the Bahrain International Airport with drugs. The defendant is said to have tried to smuggle half kilo gram of shabu. Meanwhile, the 36-year-old defendant denied his links with the drugs that were found in his possession. He reportedly told police officers that he got them from a friend.
“I received the bag from a friend. I wasn’t aware of what was inside it,” he said in his statement. The defendant was charged on grounds of having illegal drugs in his possession.
