Three men accused of stealing a vehicle in the capital were acquitted after a judge found the case against them too shaky to stand.
Two of the accused turned up to court and denied any part in the alleged theft, which took place in February.
The third, though legally summoned, stayed away and was tried in his absence.
Prosecutors claimed the three had made off with personal belongings belonging to a man named in the case file and pushed for punishment under Article 380(7) of the Penal Code.
The pair who showed up denied the charge when it was read out.
Representing the second man, defence lawyer Jassim Al Isa filed a plea asking for acquittal. The court took his argument on board.
The judge reviewed the file, heard the arguments and gave the evidence a close look.
