Conduct of police in village to be probed
Manama: Security authorities are investigating the allegations of policemen’s misconduct, confirmed a senior security official.
Interior Ministry’s Legal Affairs Assistant Undersecretary Brigadier Mohammed Bu Hamood said in a statement issued yesterday, “Investigations were launched into the performance of security forces in a village after the circulation of an
online video.”
The official’s statements followed widespread allegations against policemen on local social media networks. The posts questioned the performance of policemen, while other networks said security forces were dispersing an illegal gathering.
The incident was apparently reported at a village in the Northern Governorate. However, the above was the only comment available from Interior Ministry on the matter.
