When the Royal Humanitarian Foundation was established 25 years ago, its mission was straightforward — help those in need. Today, it has grown into something far greater.

On World Humanitarian Day, Bahrain did not just mark a date on the calendar. It celebrated a legacy.

More Than Relief — A Movement

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, said the occasion renews Bahrain's commitment to humanitarian values, giving and solidarity.

Under his leadership, the foundation has transformed from a relief organisation into a comprehensive humanitarian model — one that combines care, empowerment and development, both inside Bahrain and far beyond its borders.

The numbers tell their own story. Over 32,000 humanitarian cases supported. More than 75,000 forms of assistance delivered. A quarter-century of quiet, consistent compassion.

Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain's unwavering support for international humanitarian efforts, describing it as a core value rooted in the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh echoed that sentiment, saying Bahrain has established itself as a prominent model of humanitarian action — a kingdom that does not just talk about solidarity, but lives it.

Acting Secretary-General Ibrahim Delhan Al Doseri said the foundation's next chapter is built on sustainability and independence — helping people not just survive, but thrive.

Twenty-five years in, Bahrain's humanitarian story is far from over. It is only getting started.
