National experts develop exam to strengthen professional assessment and licensing standards

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has organized the first national dental assistant licensing examination, developed and prepared entirely by the Authority’s national experts in line with approved standards and best practices.

NHRA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ansari said the examination, which is a licensing requirement, was developed by the Authority’s specialized technical teams to ensure it meets the requirements for practicing the profession in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He said the exam also aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the professional assessment and licensing system.

Dr. Al-Ansari noted that the initiative reflects the NHRA’s commitment to continuously developing professional assessment and licensing mechanisms and applying high standards of quality and efficiency in regulating health professions.

He added that ensuring applicants meet the required scientific and professional standards will contribute to patient safety and improve the quality of healthcare services.

The NHRA CEO said the Authority will continue investing in the development of national professional assessment and testing tools by leveraging national expertise and competencies. This, he said, will support the sustainability and efficiency of the professional licensing system and strengthen Bahrain’s position in regulating health professions and services.

The organization of the examination falls within the NHRA’s mandate to regulate and license health professions and verify that practitioners meet approved professional requirements before granting them licenses to practice.

The process contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services and enhancing the efficiency of Bahrain’s health sector.
