Sitra Central Market Development Reaches 80%
The development of Sitra Central Market has reached 80% completion, said Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak during an inspection visit to the project.
Al Mubarak said the development of central markets is part of the ministry’s efforts to improve the efficiency of service facilities and provide a modern, organised environment for vendors and shoppers.
He said the Sitra Central Market development project is among the initiatives aimed at improving the shopping experience and providing integrated facilities that meet the needs of residents of Sitra and neighbouring areas.
The minister added that the ministry continues to implement plans to develop central markets in line with citizens’ expectations by upgrading infrastructure and preparing facilities according to organisational and service standards that support local commercial activity.
Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, MP Mohsen Ali Al Asbool said the Sitra Central Market development represents an important addition to the area, providing modern services and facilities for citizens and vendors. He praised the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture for implementing projects that meet residents’ needs.
The development also provides 63 parking spaces and public facilities equipped for market visitors, with consideration given to the needs of people of determination.
A dedicated fish-cleaning area has also been established to provide integrated facilities and a range of services for vendors and shoppers.
