Bahrain Condemns Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting civilian and vital facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, describing them as a serious violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty, security, and stability.

The ministry stated that the attacks endangered the lives of innocent civilians and breached international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.

It also condemned the targeting of civilian air navigation systems and transit air traffic within the Bahrain Flight Information Region, warning that such actions pose a grave threat to international civil aviation and violate the Chicago Convention and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations.

The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain's legitimate right to defend its territory and vital infrastructure in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and praised the Bahrain Defence Force for its high level of readiness and the successful interception of the attacks.

Bahrain further called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take decisive action to compel Iran to immediately cease its hostile activities, respect international law, safeguard regional air and maritime navigation, and be held fully accountable for its actions to preserve regional and international peace and stability.
