High Criminal Court sentenced three individuals to life imprisonment for collaborating with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in two separate espionage cases, the Terror Crimes Prosecution announced.

In the first case, a fugitive operative working for the IRGC recruited a Bahrain-based individual to gather intelligence on vital national installations intended as targets for potential Iranian strikes.

The second defendant independently contacted an IRGC-linked online account, supplying video footage of previous Iranian attacks on Bahraini facilities and transmitting precise coordinates of critical sites for future targeting.

The Public Prosecution launched immediate investigations upon receiving both reports, questioning defendants, gathering witness testimony, and deploying technical experts to analyse seized electronic devices. Both cases were heard both cases separately, ensuring full legal guarantees, including representation by defence counsel.

The Public Prosecution described espionage for hostile foreign states as among the gravest threats to national security, pledging continued and firm legal action against anyone endangering Bahrain’s stability. All seized items were ordered confiscated.
