The High Criminal Court adjourned the case of a 37-year-old Asian businessman charged with possessing cannabis with intent to sell and cocaine for personal use.

The court granted the adjournment, set until July 20, 2026, to allow the defendant legal representation. He will remain in custody during the interim period. Investigators describe the charges as placing the accused at the centre of an organised drug trafficking network operating across international borders into the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Investigators concluded that the case involved a structured, organised trafficking network that imported narcotics into Bahrain for financial gain. The group relied on the "dead drop" method — concealing drugs at covert locations for buyers to collect independently. Trafficking organisations commonly use this method to reduce personal exposure and limit traceable contact between members operating at different levels of the supply chain.
