High Labour Court ordered a well-known store to pay an accountant BD7,695.556 in end-of-service benefits following a legal dispute triggered by his resignation after more than two decades of service.
The accountant joined the company in 2001, earning a final monthly salary of BD550, before resigning on January 31, 2025. The company allegedly failed to settle his entitlements, prompting a lawsuit.
The court ruled that as a foreign national not covered by Bahrain's Social Insurance Law until February 2024, he was entitled to benefits covering the period from March 2001 to February 2024 under Decision No. 109 of 2023. The court calculated his total entitlement at BD12,295.556, with BD7,695.556 payable after deducting an outstanding loan, plus legal costs.
