Council Delivers on Development Goals

The Capital Municipal Council has completed its fourth-term review, recording 48 resolutions, 149 committee meetings, and handling more than 1,200 public requests through the Tawasul platform.
The council stated its work focused on strengthening municipal services, improving urban development and supporting Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. During the term, it held 19 sessions, with 30 resolutions approved, 10 still under review and three rejected due to technical and regulatory issues.
The council’s five committees held 149 meetings and issued 88 recommendations, referring 56 for discussion during general sessions.
Key areas addressed included municipal regulations, urban planning, food truck licensing, labour accommodation standards, sound insulation in buildings, municipal fines, park security systems and a national building information platform.
The council received 1,203 requests, proposals and complaints through the Tawasul e-platform between September 2025 and June 2026, all were reviewed and coordinated with relevant authorities.
It also achieved annual savings of around BD50,000 following its relocation to the new Tubli headquarters, these funds will support future municipal projects.
Major achievements included infrastructure projects such as a sewage network tender for Complex 721 in Jid Ali, along with development works in Jidhafs, Sitra, Zinj and East Sitra. More than 60 per cent of reported sewage issues across 10 complexes have been resolved.
The council also highlighted progress on park development, completing maintenance at seven parks, opening two new parks in East Sitra Housing City, and planning further rehabilitation projects across the governorate.
