59 Cases Sent to Prosecution Over Market Violations

More than 21,000 commercial violations were detected across Bahrain during the first half of 2026 as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce stepped up inspections to ensure businesses comply with market regulations.
The ministry revealed that inspection teams recorded 21,080 violations between January and June, while 59 cases were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
As part of its monitoring campaign, the ministry carried out 22,151 routine inspection visits and 2,644 targeted inspection campaigns covering commercial establishments across various sectors.
The ministry said businesses were given opportunities to correct violations, with 10,384 notices issued requiring establishments to remove breaches and regularise their status. Following these measures, 9,659 violations were resolved after companies took corrective action.
Authorities also implemented enforcement measures against non-compliant businesses, including 17 administrative closure decisions and completing settlement procedures in 14 cases.
The ministry highlighted the role of public participation in strengthening market oversight, noting that it received 4,974 inquiries and 524 complaints during the same period, all of which were reviewed and followed up.
