‘Together’ Turns Roblox Into a Classroom for Online Safety

Students are learning about online safety in a familiar setting this summer. The “Together” Digital Summer Program uses the popular Roblox platform to deliver interactive security awareness lessons.

The initiative was launched by His Excellency Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and Chairman of the “Together” Committee for Combating Violence and Addiction, during a visit to the “Together” Center for Research and Training.

Accompanied by Ali Ahmed Amini, Director of the Crime Prevention Department and Director of the “Together” Program, Sheikh Hisham toured the centre and reviewed the activities prepared for participating students.

Program

The program uses educational games and digital environments to encourage positive behaviour and strengthen security awareness through methods that reflect the interests of today’s younger generation.

He was also briefed on the program’s training stages and the interactive activities designed to help students navigate digital spaces safely and responsibly while increasing their awareness of online risks.

Shaikh Hisham said awareness initiatives must keep pace with rapid technological developments by making greater use of digital platforms and game-based learning. He noted that interactive technology has become an important tool for building security awareness from an early age and strengthening the partnership between the security sector and the community.

The program also promotes cooperation, respect for others, responsible decision-making, creative thinking and problem-solving through simulation-based activities.

At the end of the visit, Sheikh Hisham praised the efforts of the team behind the initiative and called for continued development of innovative awareness programs that combine technology with meaningful engagement to better reach young people.
