India's FM Dr. Jaishankar to Visit Bahrain in High-Level Gulf Tour
Focus on Strengthening Gulf Partnerships
India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will undertake a multi-nation official visit covering Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, the United States, and Belgium from July 5 to 15. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic relations, advance strategic cooperation, and expand India’s global engagement.
Gulf Partnerships
During the first leg of his visit from July 5 to 10, Jaishankar will travel to Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman. He is expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and senior leadership in each country.
The discussions will focus on enhancing India’s bilateral relations with these Gulf nations while exchanging views on key regional developments and issues of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, energy security, and regional stability.
UN Security Council Campaign
Following his Gulf engagements, the External Affairs Minister will travel to New York on July 13, he will officially launch India’s campaign for its candidature for the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) term 2028–29.
The launch marks a significant step in India’s diplomatic outreach as it seeks broader international support for its bid for a non-permanent seat on the Security Council.
India–EU Trade
Dr. Jaishankar will then proceed to Brussels to participate in the 3rd India–EU Trade and Technology Council meeting, scheduled for July 14–15, 2026.
During the visit, he is expected to engage with European Union and Belgian counterparts to strengthen cooperation in trade, digital innovation, emerging technologies, and strategic global challenges.
The multi-region visit reflects India’s continued efforts to deepen partnerships across the Gulf, North America, and Europe, while advancing its role in global governance and multilateral institutions.
