A Hamad Town councillor has raised concerns over a polluted stormwater drainage site that has not been cleaned for four years, warning of growing health and environmental risks in the area.

Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Northern Municipal Council member for the ninth constituency is urging intervention to resolve the issue. He made the call following an urgent site visit to a rainwater drainage channel in Hamad Town.

During the inspection, attended by representatives from the Health Ministry and the Supreme Council for Environment, officials found the site filled with waste, rubbish, and overgrown vegetation, resulting in blocked drains and stagnant water. Officials warned that the area had become a breeding ground for insects, rodents, and snakes, posing risks to nearby residents.
