The High Criminal Court ordered the detention of two Asian nationals accused of stealing electrical cables from five under-construction residential properties in the East Riffa area.

According to the Public Prosecution, four separate reports regarding the thefts were received from the Southern Governorate Police Directorate. Police investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspects.

Authorities said the first defendant was apprehended possessing part of the stolen electrical materials, while the second suspect was arrested after allegedly purchasing some of the stolen items without verifying their source.

Following the arrests, the Public Prosecution launched an immediate investigation, during which both defendants were interrogated and confronted with the available evidence. Both subsequently confessed to the charges.

Based on their admissions, the prosecution ordered their pretrial detention pending referral to the competent court. It also directed the return of the recovered stolen items to their rightful owners.

The Public Prosecution reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing legal action against individuals involved in property crimes or dealing in illicit proceeds. It also commended the security authorities for their swift response, which led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen materials, helping safeguard public security and property rights.
