Trump Announces Iran Conditions

US President Donald Trump announced a series of demands and proposals involving Iran, including a requirement that Tehran permanently abandon any pursuit of nuclear weapons and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz to unrestricted international shipping.

In a detailed statement, Trump said Iran “must agree that they will never have a nuclear weapon or bomb,” while also calling for the removal or detonation of any remaining naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump claimed US forces had already cleared several mines during what he described as an “unprecedented naval blockade,” adding that vessels stranded in the waterway would now be permitted to resume operations.

The US President also stated that enriched nuclear material buried deep underground following a reported US B-2 bomber strike 11 months ago would be excavated and destroyed in cooperation with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

According to Trump, only the United States and China possess the technical capability required to remove the underground material safely.

“No money will be exchanged, until further notice,” Trump said, while adding that additional matters of “far less importance” had also been agreed upon.

Trump further revealed that he would meet in the Situation Room to make a “final determination” regarding the proposed measures.

The remarks come amid continued international scrutiny over Iran’s nuclear activities and rising concerns over maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global energy shipments.
