Construction of the Bahrain–Kuwait Health Centre in Qalali has reached 46% completion, marking steady progress in efforts to expand and modernise primary healthcare services in the Kingdom.

The project is part of broader national initiatives to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and increase service capacity for citizens and residents. It is being developed on a 6,828-square-metre site and will function as a two-storey primary healthcare facility upon completion.

The centre will include more than 36 core clinical service points, featuring 14 consultation clinics, 14 examination rooms, eight dental clinics, and a 12-bed emergency department. It will also provide maternity and child health services, alongside supporting medical and administrative facilities, aimed at improving accessibility and easing pressure on existing health centres.

Officials say the project is designed to meet high medical and engineering standards, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Green building principles and energy-efficient systems have been incorporated into the design in line with Bahrain’s environmental objectives.

Engineer Mariam Abdullah Amin said the development aligns with Bahrain’s strategy to enhance primary healthcare infrastructure and raise service delivery standards across the Kingdom.

She also noted the contribution of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait through public–private partnership support, which has helped advance the project’s implementation.
