Damaged roads, deteriorating asphalt and parking shortages topped concerns raised during a field visit to Umm Al Hassam by the Capital Municipal Council’s Services and Public Utilities Committee.
The visit included MP Dr Hassan Bukhammas and municipal officials, who reviewed residents’ demands to speed up the Umm Al Hassam development project and maintain internal roads.
Officials discussed replacing worn asphalt, rehabilitating pavements and upgrading Kuwait Street, Isa bin Salman Street and Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Street.
Parking shortages near mosques and public facilities, along with violations linked to some commercial activities and restaurants, were also highlighted during the visit.
