Bahrain, Nepal discuss migrant worker protections
Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) chief Nibras Taleb met Nepal’s ambassador to the kingdom, Tirtha Raj Wagle, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and protecting migrant workers’ rights.
Taleb, who also chairs Bahrain’s National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, highlighted the importance of ties between Bahrain and Nepal, stressing efforts to advance cooperation in ways that serve mutual interests.
He underscored the role of embassies and diplomatic missions in supporting government initiatives aimed at raising awareness among expatriate workers about national laws and regulations.
“Joint efforts are essential to safeguarding the rights of both employers and workers in line with international standards,” Taleb said.
The meeting also reviewed Bahrain’s ongoing initiatives to promote a fair and stable labour market that protects the rights of all parties.
