COUNTDOWN BEGINS FOR NASSER 8

The countdown has started for the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games (Nasser8), which kicks off next Thursday and concludes during the Holy Month of Ramadan on July 3.
It is being held under the patronage of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The first matches of the football will be on the opening day of Nasser 8 and include defending champions Victorious Team, who will play Fast Link, while the second game will be between Al Wehda and Majestic Car Showroom.
Both teams taking part in the championship are currently playing several friendly matches, within their preparations for the tournament.
Confirming their continuing practice sessions, Majestic Car Showroom team Manager Ibrahim Al Sinan, stating that taking part in the championship is an honour for the whole team and organisation, as it’s patronised and promoted by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Al Sinan said the team is ready to compete for the title, despite the various challenges the team experienced during the initial stages of formation.
He said the team spent lengthy hours training and added that team members have attained good levels under coach Duaij Nasser and his assistant Rashid Burshaid. The team has also contracted a professional who plays for a national club who will be announced later.
Al Fakhar team manager Abdulrahman Juma says the team is all set to adding more achievements to its titles in the history of the championship over the past years.
Juma says the team has been training since the end of the previous tournament (Nasser 7), in order to be fit for this year’s edition. The team is regularly trained by coach Faisal Abdulmajeed and led by its captain Tawfeeq Al Aali who have played several friendly matches in preparation and includes a British professional, and is presently searching for a professional goalkeeper as the team regular is out due to an injury.
