From financial support for families to clearing abandoned vehicles from neighbourhoods, a series of municipal measures are reshaping everyday services, as authorities respond to audit observations with a focus on practical impact.
In its response to the National Audit Office, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture confirmed that it provides BD13,000 in financial support to eligible families under the Cities and Villages Development Programme, in coordination with municipal councils.
Applications are processed through an electronic system, supported by clear guidelines to ensure fairness and transparency.
For families, such assistance represents more than funding. It offers stability at a time when managing daily costs remains a challenge.
Services
Inspection campaigns have led to the removal of around 480 abandoned vehicles, improving safety and restoring the appearance of residential areas.
At the same time, 12 municipal sites have been allocated across the Kingdom to support mobile food businesses, with applications now available digitally.
Regulation
With the growing presence of food trucks, coordination has been strengthened with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to track licences issued through the “Sijilat” system, ensuring better organisation of the sector.
Environment
A dedicated unit has been established to monitor the quality and sustainability of trees and green spaces, alongside plans to expand production at Adhari Nursery over the coming years.
A technical study on licensing car shades outside homes has also been completed, with steps underway for implementation.
Together, these measures reflect a broader effort to improve services in ways that residents can see, feel, and rely on in their daily lives.
