Manama: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has launched a series of inspection campaigns across retail outlets in Bahrain following reports of rising prices on certain goods.
The ministry’s Inspection Directorate conducted field visits to monitor price levels, ensure the availability of essential items, and identify any violations, including unjustified price increases. Authorities also assessed compliance with existing laws and commercial regulations.
A total of 102 retail outlets were inspected across key areas, including Manama, Al Hidd, Diyar Al Muharraq, East Riffa, and Isa Town.
During the campaign, inspectors identified a retail shop that had increased the prices of flashlights without justification. The establishment was administratively closed, and legal action was taken against the violator.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and maintaining market stability, warning that strict measures will continue against any businesses found violating pricing regulations.
