UK Updates Travel Advice for Bahrain Amid Regional Escalation

The British Embassy Bahrain has issued an updated travel advisory for Bahrain, urging British nationals to remain cautious as regional tensions continue to escalate.

According to the latest guidance from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, British citizens currently in Bahrain are advised to stay away from areas near security or military facilities, as well as locations associated with the United States Government.

The update comes amid ongoing instability in the region. Authorities warned that Iran has continued strikes across parts of the region, targeting civilian infrastructure such as hotels, roads, bridges, energy facilities, oil production sites, water systems and airports.

The UK government continues to advise against all but essential travel to Bahrain. British nationals already in the country are encouraged to register their presence and sign up for alerts through the FCDO travel advice page to receive important updates and guidance in case of an emergency.

The embassy said travel advice is kept under constant review and urged citizens to regularly check the latest updates on the official Government of the United Kingdom website.

British nationals requiring consular assistance in Bahrain can contact the embassy on +973 1757 4100.

Authorities also urged citizens to stay informed and follow official guidance to ensure their safety during the current period of regional uncertainty.
