Bahrain Responds to Iranian Attack on Fuel Facility; UN Backs Regional Security Resolution

Over the past six hours, Bahrain has witnessed significant developments following an attack targeting a fuel storage facility in the Muharraq Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the incident was the result of Iranian aggression aimed at fuel tanks. Civil Defence teams are actively working to control the fire, with specialized firefighting units and equipment deployed to contain the blaze.
Authorities also issued precautionary advisories for residents in Hidd, Arad, Qalali, and Samaheej. Citizens are urged to stay indoors and keep windows and ventilation openings closed due to smoke from the fire.

On the diplomatic front, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted a Bahrain-led resolution addressing attacks on civilian infrastructure in the Gulf. Draft Resolution 2817 passed with 13 votes in favor, while Russia and China abstained.
Speaking ahead of the vote, Mike Waltz, U.S. Ambassador to the UN, expressed strong support for Bahrain’s initiative, condemning attacks on civilian infrastructure in the region. Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, welcomed the resolution, highlighting it as a sign of international support for regional security, sovereignty, and peace.

Finally, Bahrainis are advised of weather updates, with light to moderate rain expected on Thursday and Friday. Thunderstorms and occasional strong gusts of wind are forecasted for Thursday.
