Bahrain Strengthens Telecommunications Readiness Amid Regional Developments

His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing the readiness of its telecommunications sector to ensure the continuity of critical services and strengthen coordination among relevant authorities amid evolving regional developments.
His Excellency highlighted the telecommunications sector as a cornerstone of national security and digital infrastructure, praising the efforts of telecom companies in upgrading technical capabilities and supporting emergency response systems.
The Minister emphasized the Ministry’s ongoing oversight of service providers’ preparedness, including on-site reviews of their operational and precautionary plans, ensuring network protection and the uninterrupted provision of services under all circumstances.
In this context, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa visited several telecom companies across Bahrain to assess their readiness. At the Batelco branch in City Centre Bahrain, he was joined by Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon, and members of the executive management, where he was briefed on network readiness and measures to ensure service continuity.
He also visited the STC Bahrain branch at the same complex with CEO Khaled Al Osaimi, reviewing technical and operational preparations to enhance network efficiency and service reliability.
At Zain Bahrain’s headquarters in Seef District, he met with Managing Director Mohamed Abdullah Zain Al Abideen to discuss the company’s efforts in network enhancement and technical capacity development.
His Excellency also toured BNet, meeting CEO Ahmed Jaber Al Dosari to review initiatives aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure and emergency response plans, ensuring coordinated efforts to maintain uninterrupted telecom services across the Kingdom.
Telecom officials expressed their appreciation for the Minister’s visit, emphasizing the sector’s preparedness and affirming their commitment to operational and precautionary plans that guarantee high-quality service continuity in all conditions.
