Rainwater pooling in parts of the Capital Governorate is being tracked by the Capital Trustees Board, which says it is working with the Capital Municipality, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and the Ministry of Works to speed up pumping and keep roads and neighbourhoods safe after the latest rain.

The council said the joint work spans all districts in the governorate, with reports passed straight to the teams on the ground and followed up until the water is cleared.

Engineer Saleh Tarradah, chairman of the Capital Trustees Board, said the council wanted closer coordination with the bodies responsible for drainage and municipal services. He praised their fast response and readiness when calls come in and when emergencies arise, adding that the shared effort aims to serve citizens and residents.

Deputy chairwoman Dr Kholoud Al Qattan called on residents and civil society groups to help spot where water gathers and report it as it happens, saying direct contact can speed up fixes and help solve issues in a short time.

Members of the council have also been out in several areas to check pumping work and see how operations are going, while speaking with residents to hear their notes and needs, the statement said.

The council said it is receiving complaints and calls through the ‘Tawasul’ platform on Bahrain’s eGovernment portal, as well as through the dedicated numbers for each district in the capital. Reports, it said, are passed straight to the relevant bodies and tracked until the work is finished.

It also praised the work of technical teams at the relevant authorities, and thanked civil society groups and residents for their cooperation during the rainfall response.
