Royal Patronage Marks Milestone Charter Celebration
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa patronized the Ministry of Education’s celebration marking the 2026 anniversary of the National Action Charter. The event was held at the National Charter Monument in Sakhir.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was received by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, along with senior ministry officials. The minister welcomed the King, while participating students from various public and private schools across the Kingdom greeted His Majesty with enthusiastic chants.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by student Abdullah Zubair Hassan from Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Secondary School for Boys.
Students then presented four artistic and musical performances produced by the Ministry of Education. The performances reflected national pride and loyalty, featuring lyrics by prominent Bahraini poets and compositions by well-known artists. The segments highlighted themes of devotion to the Kingdom, pride in its leadership, and celebration of the National Action Charter.
On this occasion, His Majesty delivered a speech, stating:
“This day can only be described as the glorious day of the people. On this occasion, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to everyone and to the people of Bahrain, praying that God preserves all in goodness.
Wishing you all well every year.”
His Majesty expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Education for organizing the ceremony and commended all participants for honoring this cherished national occasion. He conveyed his pride in the sincere patriotic sentiments demonstrated throughout the event, noting that they reflect the national values embedded within the Ministry’s curricula and student activities. His Majesty affirmed that generations of students in Bahrain’s schools have been raised on love and loyalty to the nation and its leadership.
The King also praised educators across different eras for their contributions to the Kingdom’s progress, development, and the advancement of knowledge, which have elevated Bahrain to leading positions regionally and internationally in the field of education.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma extended his highest congratulations to His Majesty and to His Royal Highness Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter. He expressed gratitude for His Majesty’s continued patronage of this major national educational celebration held annually at the National Charter Monument.
The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Education remains committed to implementing His Majesty’s directives to further embed the principles and values of the National Action Charter within school curricula, educational plans, and programs, ensuring they form a core part of students’ upbringing.
He further noted that, in line with directives from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to implement His Majesty’s order declaring the “Year of Isa the Great,” the ministry has begun updating curricula to expand coverage of the life and legacy of the late Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. Additional lessons have also been incorporated to document Bahrain’s history since the founding of the modern Bahraini state in 1783 by Sheikh Ahmed Al Fateh, reinforcing national identity and deepening students’ understanding of the Kingdom’s heritage.
Dr. Juma added that this year’s celebration adopts the theme “Isa the Great,” with the participation of more than 3,000 students from schools across Bahrain, while tens of thousands of students and parents followed the event. He emphasized that His Majesty’s presence and interaction with students serve as the highest honor and a strong motivation for them to strive for excellence and continued achievement.
