Husband causes wife death due to negligence

The First High Criminal Court has set March 17, 2026, as the date to issue its verdict in the case of a Gulf national in his fifties, accused of causing the death of his wife while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with causing, through negligence, the death of the victim—his wife—in a traffic accident on November 1, 2025, while he was intoxicated.
He was also charged with being in a clear state of drunkenness in a public place, damaging public property, driving in a manner that endangered lives and property, failing to exercise due care and caution, and driving under the influence of alcohol to a degree that caused him to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in traffic violations and damage to public assets.
