Bahrain, US Hold Consultations on UN Security Council Priorities

Washington: Bahrain and the United States held high-level political consultations in Washington focused on coordination and shared priorities within the United Nations Security Council, as part of ongoing dialogue between the two countries.
The talks brought together representatives from Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and senior officials from the US State Department, reflecting close cooperation ahead of Bahrain’s non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for the 2026–2027 term.
Discussions centred on a broad exchange of perspectives on matters currently before the Security Council, with both sides emphasising the importance of continued coordination to address evolving global challenges. The consultations also reviewed key regional and international developments, underscoring shared interests in promoting stability, diplomacy, and multilateral engagement.
Participants highlighted the value of aligning positions within the Council to enhance effectiveness and support international peace and security efforts. The dialogue reaffirmed the commitment of Bahrain and the United States to maintain close collaboration on multilateral issues through established diplomatic channels.
