Three Killed, Including Child, in Head-On Crash Near Tree of Life

A tragic road accident involving two vehicles in the Al-Qarah area of Sakhir, near the Tree of Life, has claimed the lives of two adults and a child, with several others injured, the Ministry of Interior announced.

The ministry said the collision resulted in the deaths of two men aged 31 and 29, and an eight-year-old girl. Other individuals sustained injuries. Relevant authorities have begun on-site procedures and are completing the necessary investigations in accordance with established regulations.

According to initial accounts from eyewitnesses cited by Al Ayam, the crash occurred after a Toyota Land Cruiser carrying two young men attempted an overtaking maneuver, leading to a head-on collision with a Mazda driven by a young man accompanied by his wife and their eight-year-old daughter.

Witnesses reported injuries among the occupants of the first vehicle, while the most severe losses were in the second car, whose occupants—Ahmed Al Shuwaikh (31), Hawra Makki (29), and Reem Al Shuwaikh (8)—lost their lives.

The incident has cast a pall of grief across the community, with widespread reactions on social media expressing condolences and prayers for the victims and their families. Many users also called for stricter traffic enforcement and measures to curb risky driving behaviors, particularly in areas that see heavy weekend traffic.
