Northern Municipal Council Strengthens Coordination with King Fahd Causeway

The Northern Municipal Council has carried out an official visit to the King Fahd Causeway Directorate as part of the Public Relations and Media Committee programme, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination and communication with government entities linked to community services.

The visit was attended by Council Chairman Dr Sayed Shubbar Ibrahim Al Wadaie, alongside a number of council members and employees. The delegation was received by officials from the directorate, who welcomed the initiative as a constructive step towards enhancing institutional cooperation and shared understanding.

During the field tour, the delegation visited several key facilities operating at the causeway. These included the Coast Guard Command, the Passports Directorate, the Customs Inspection Yard, the Traffic Section, the Civil Defence Centre and the King Fahd Causeway Police Directorate. Council members were briefed on operational mechanisms and the diverse responsibilities carried out by these departments to ensure the smooth flow of travellers and maintain public safety.

Officials delivered presentations outlining the scope of work undertaken by each department, highlighting the importance of coordination and community partnership. The briefings emphasised how unified efforts between institutions contribute to clearer communication with the public and reinforce a shared sense of responsibility in serving society.

In a related context, council representatives proposed the introduction of public awareness presentations covering the activities and services offered by the various departments. These sessions would be delivered as part of the council’s recurring social initiative Hayakom, with the aim of strengthening public understanding and engagement.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Northern Municipal Council presented a commemorative shield to the King Fahad Causeway Directorate in appreciation of its cooperation and constructive engagement. Council officials described the visit as a positive example of joint institutional work that supports the public interest and strengthens coordination across government sectors.
