New Airport Fee: BD 2 for Departing and Transit Passengers in Bahrain
The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has issued a decision to introduce a new fee for passengers departing from Bahrain International Airport, called the “Passenger Registration Fee.”
According to the decision published in the official gazette, a new item (No. 4) has been added to Table 4 of Decision No. 25 of 2016, which regulates civil aviation fees and air departure service charges. The new item imposes a fee of BD 2 per passenger for both departing travelers and transit passengers passing through Bahrain.
The second article of the decision states that the fee will take effect 120 days after its publication in the official gazette issued on 25 December 2025, making the official implementation date 24 April 2026.
