Bahrain-Saudi Ties in Focus as HRH Crown Prince Meets STC Board Chairman

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Tuesday met with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Khaled bin Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Telecom Company (STC), at Gudaibiya Palace.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness affirmed the depth of the longstanding and historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that bilateral ties continue to strengthen under the guidance and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

His Royal Highness reiterated the shared commitment of both countries to further enhance cooperation across various sectors, including through a number of agreements under the framework of the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council. This cooperation reflects the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in advancing bilateral relations.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the vital role of the communications and information technology sector in supporting development initiatives and driving economic growth. He underscored Bahrain’s efforts to leverage modern technologies to enhance the competitiveness of this key sector.

His Royal Highness also emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening its overall competitiveness and fostering an attractive investment environment, supported by targeted measures aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.

The meeting further highlighted the strong Bahrain-Saudi partnership, particularly in the communications and information technology sector, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to further developing cooperation to achieve common aspirations.

For his part, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Khaled bin Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal expressed his appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his continued efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. He also conveyed his best wishes for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, along with a number of senior officials.
