HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Inaugurates Fifth Celebrate Bahrain Festival
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa today opened the fifth edition of the Celebrate Bahrain Festival at the Heritage Village in Ras Hayyan. The annual event, organised by the Ministry of Information, is part of Bahrain’s National Day celebrations.
Upon his arrival, His Highness was received by the Minister of Information, Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, along with senior officials.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman said the festival reflects Bahrain’s achievements across many sectors and highlights the dedication of its people in driving development. He noted that the celebrations align with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Highness added that the strong turnout during National Day events shows the deep sense of national pride and loyalty among citizens. He also stressed the importance of such occasions in preserving national identity and educating younger generations about Bahrain’s history and future progress.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman praised the efforts of all teams involved in organising the festival and thanked the Ministry of Information for their work in ensuring its success.
During the inauguration, His Highness attended the first performance of the Bahrain Choir, a new artistic project launched by the Ministry to mark the start of the National Day festivities. The choir aims to present Bahraini musical heritage in a modern style.
He then toured the festival grounds, which include cultural shows, heritage exhibitions, traditional crafts, and a market featuring local products. The event is organised by several government bodies in cooperation with private-sector partners.
For his part, the Minister of Information thanked His Highness for inaugurating the festival. Dr Al Noaimi said the event showcases Bahrain’s development under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to holding the festival each year as part of the National Day celebrations.
This year’s festival runs from 4 to 28 December and features interactive experiences, heritage workshops, and training sessions in pottery, traditional ship model building, palm weaving, inlaid chest-making, and textile work. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional market, family activities, and local food outlets throughout the Heritage Village.
