9th BKS-DC International Book Festival Kicks Off in Bahrain

The 9th BKS-DC International Book Festival and Cultural Carnival, organized by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) and DC Books, will run from today till 14th December at the BKS premises. The festival will be inaugurated today (4th December) at 7:00 PM by Indian Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob, with poet Prabha Varma as Guest of Honour. The fair will showcase approximately 100,000 books and feature appearances by prominent writers and celebrities from Kerala.
It will also host the launch of books by seven Bahrain-based Malayalee writers. Open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM, the festival includes evening cultural programs (7:30 PM) and literary discussions. Highlights include ‘Culture Viva’ (Dec 5) with artists from over ten countries, ‘Kalaidoscope’ (Dec 6) showcasing Indian dance forms, and a children’s competition on December 8.
The event also features exhibitions and a daily quiz. The press conference regarding the event was attended by BKS President P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai other office bearers.
