‘Agriculture key to food security and progress’

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has stressed that agriculture is essential for strengthening Bahrain’s food security and advancing the Kingdom’s sustainable development goals.
He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to adopting forward-looking initiatives that drive agricultural innovation and enable the Kingdom’s farmers to succeed.
HH Shaikh Mohammed was speaking as he inaugurated yesterday the Agro Careers digital platform, held under his patronage.
The first initiative of its kind in the Kingdom, this platform provides aspiring farmers with academic and professional guidance.
Innovation
His Highness emphasised the importance of the agricultural sector, noting that its development can empower and attract local Bahrainis, driving greater agricultural innovation.
He noted that such efforts support the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and guided by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Mohammed highlighted the pivotal role of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Advisory Council of the NIAD, in its ongoing efforts to advancing the Kingdom’s agricultural sector.
Launch
His Highness noted that the launch of the Agro Careers platform represents a vital step toward introducing younger generations to emerging agricultural professions, noting that these efforts ensure alignment between future career choices and the evolving needs of the sector.
