Bahrain Supports Historic UN Plan for Gaza Reconstruction and Stability
Bahrain has welcomed a newly adopted United Nations Security Council resolution that supports a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip and lay the foundation for long-term stability and recovery.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Kingdom endorses the resolution’s provisions, which include solidifying a ceasefire, establishing a transitional international “Peace Council” to coordinate reconstruction and recovery funding, restoring full humanitarian aid access, and deploying a temporary international force to stabilize the situation, protect civilians, enforce disarmament, and assist Palestinian police forces.
These measures, the ministry noted, are aligned with international law and international humanitarian standards.
Bahrain expressed deep appreciation for the United States’ role in drafting the resolution and for the cooperation of Security Council members and regional and international partners in securing its adoption. The ministry added that the resolution is based on President Donald Trump’s “Peace and Lasting Prosperity” plan, which was endorsed during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.
The Kingdom affirmed its full support for implementing the UN resolution, describing it as a historic milestone that paves the way for the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish an independent state.
Such a step, Bahrain said, will help reinforce lasting and just peace while promoting coexistence and prosperity among all peoples of the region.
