Man held over social media post on rescue efforts

The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security has summoned and arrested a 48-year-old Bahraini citizen for a social media post in which he questioned the search-and-rescue efforts in a missing-citizen case.
This was announced by the Interior Ministry announced that the Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate.
The content was deemed to have incited public opinion, influenced the course of the investigation, and defamed official entities.
The directorate explained that the circulated content constitutes a violation of Article 245 of the Penal Code, as it involved spreading false information and attempting to manipulate public opinion.
Legal procedures have been taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
