Interior Ministry Issues Safety Alert After Four-Year-Old Dies in Unlicensed Vehicle
The Interior Ministry has urged parents to prioritize their children’s safety after a four-and-a-half-year-old child tragically died inside a vehicle in Hamad City.
Authorities from the Northern Governorate Police Directorate responded swiftly after a kindergarten employee reported the incident. Initial investigations revealed that the child had been left for several hours in a vehicle not licensed for student transport, under the supervision of a 40-year-old female driver. The case has now been referred to the Public Prosecution following legal procedures.
In response to the incident, the Interior Ministry strongly emphasized the importance of hiring only licensed drivers authorized to transport students. The Ministry also reiterated its commitment to raising awareness through educational campaigns targeting parents, school and kindergarten staff, and students, promoting safety in vehicles and around educational facilities.
