Historic Gaza Peace Plan Signed at Sharm El-Sheikh Summit

U.S. President Donald Trump, alongside leaders from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, signed the historic Gaza Peace Plan aimed at ending the conflict in the region. The signing took place at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, attended by more than two dozen world leaders, including His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.

The summit brought together kings, presidents, and heads of governments from allied and friendly nations to discuss regional stability and the path to lasting peace. Upon arrival, His Majesty King Hamad was warmly received by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who expressed gratitude for the King’s participation in the critical dialogue.

Ahead of the summit, President Trump and President El-Sisi addressed the media. Trump praised Egypt’s pivotal role in facilitating ceasefire negotiations. Earlier in the week, Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered speeches at the Knesset in Jerusalem on the fifth day of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Trump hailed the moment as a “dawn of a new Middle East,” though he made limited remarks regarding the Palestinian side.

In a significant development, the remaining 20 Israeli hostages have been released and returned to Israeli territory. Concurrently, Israel has begun releasing hundreds of Palestinian detainees as part of the broader peace process. Meanwhile, preparations are underway along Gaza’s border to facilitate increased humanitarian aid to the war-affected region.

The agreement marks a historic step toward ending years of conflict and fostering regional cooperation in the Middle East.
