Bahrain Honors Labor Inspectors for Record Compliance with Midday Work Ban

His Excellency Yusuf bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, honored employees of the Labour Ministry’s Inspection and Occupational Safety Directorate in recognition of their efforts in monitoring workplaces and ensuring compliance with ministerial regulations on midday work bans.

The recognition follows the successful enforcement of Ministerial Resolution No. (3) of 2013, as amended by Resolution No. (11) of 2025, which prohibits outdoor work under direct sunlight and in open areas during the hottest hours of the day. The regulation was applied this year from June 15 to September 15.

Throughout the three-month enforcement period, inspectors carried out a total of 35,050 site visits, achieving an unprecedented private sector compliance rate of 99.97%—the highest since the regulation was first introduced in 2007.

Minister Khalaf praised the awareness and guidance campaigns organized by the Inspection and Occupational Safety Directorate in cooperation with supporting agencies. These initiatives aimed to educate workers about preventive measures against heat stress, sunstroke, and summer-related illnesses.

He emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen workplace safety in Bahrain by applying the highest occupational health standards. The minister also underscored the need for greater collaboration between the three production parties—government, employers, and workers—to launch initiatives that foster a strong culture of workplace safety, ensuring the protection of workers’ rights and enhancing productivity.
