High Criminal Court Upholds Life Sentence in Tubli Murder and Arson Case
Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment, Confiscation of Weapon, and Permanent Deportation from Bahrain
The Chief Prosecutor of the Capital Governorate announced that the High Criminal Court of Appeal has upheld the life sentence against a man convicted of murder and arson in the Tubli area. The court also confirmed the confiscation of the crime weapon and ordered the permanent deportation of the convict from the Kingdom of Bahrain upon completion of his sentence.
The Public Prosecution received a report on April 9, 2025, from the Capital Governorate Police regarding a fire at a workers’ residence in Tubli, where the body of an Asian man was discovered. The prosecution immediately launched an investigation, visiting the scene with a forensic doctor and criminal evidence experts. Examination of the crime scene and the victim revealed severe head injuries. The prosecution ordered the collection and analysis of evidence, a postmortem to determine the cause of death, and extensive investigations to identify the perpetrator.
Investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department confirmed the accused’s involvement in the murder and arson. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime, detailing that he struck the victim multiple times on the head with a hammer due to personal disputes, then set the fire to conceal evidence. The prosecution accompanied the suspect to the crime scene, where he reenacted the crime. Several witnesses were also interviewed during the investigation.
The case was referred to the High Criminal Court, which on July 8, 2025, sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. The defendant appealed, but the High Criminal Court of Appeal has now upheld the original verdict.
