Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting

His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting today at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet reviewed ongoing initiatives aligned with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision of prioritizing Bahraini citizens in the Kingdom’s development plans. Officials followed up on directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at providing three job opportunities to every registered Bahraini job seeker before the end of the year.

The Cabinet expressed pride in HM the King’s recognition of the meeting held between General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for the Follow-up on the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Reinforce Citizenship Values, and residents of Muharraq Governorate. The Cabinet also extended appreciation to the residents for their contributions and loyalty, while reviewing HM the King’s Royal Order to develop Muharraq, preserving its heritage and historical identity.

Highlighting Bahrain’s ongoing economic progress, the Cabinet noted the outcomes of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. During the first nine months of 2025, Bahrain attracted USD 1.52 billion in direct investments from 75 local and international projects, expected to create over 4,300 jobs within three years.

On the occasion of World Teachers' Day, the Cabinet extended its best wishes to Bahrain’s educators, recognizing their critical role in preparing the next generation for the Kingdom’s future development.

The Cabinet also celebrated Bahrain’s achievements in civil aviation, welcoming the awarding of the ICAO Council President’s Certificate, one of the sector’s most prestigious international honors. Additionally, officials welcomed the signing of an agreement to establish the International Dates Council headquarters in Bahrain, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to agriculture, palm cultivation, and date production.

The Cabinet reviewed and approved several key memorandums, including:

  • Amendments to unified laws among Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Bahrain and the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Saudi Arabia.

  • Preparations for Bahrain’s Third Voluntary National Review of Sustainable Development Goals in 2026.

  • Government responses to draft laws and proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.

Additionally, ministerial reports were noted on:

  • The First Bahrain Veterinary Conference and Exhibition 2025.

  • Bahrain’s participation in the Climate Summit at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

  • Bahrain’s participation in the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025.

  • Bahrain’s participation in the High-Level Meeting commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the World Programme of Action for Youth at the UNGA 80th session.

  • External ministerial engagements and upcoming visits by foreign ministers to Bahrain in October 2025.
