The Court of Cassation has upheld prison sentences ranging from one to three years against a former manager and two employees of the Ministry of Social Development, in addition to fines and repayment orders exceeding BD278,000.

The defendants were convicted of issuing forged certificates under the “Productive Home Program,” enabling beneficiaries to unlawfully subscribe to optional insurance and retroactively purchase service years with the Social Insurance Organization.

Investigations conducted by the National Audit Office and the Anti-Corruption Directorate confirmed the scheme, which involved the forgery of official documents and deliberate damage to public funds.

The Cassation Court rejected the defendants’ final appeals, affirming the previous rulings.
