Bahrain Welcomes Quartet Statement on Peace Efforts in Sudan
he Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the joint statement issued by the Quartet, expressing support for achieving a peaceful resolution in the sisterly Republic of Sudan. The statement emphasizes the importance of preserving Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while promoting regional peace, security, and stability.
The Ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s support and appreciation for the efforts of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America in ending the ongoing conflict in Sudan. The Quartet called on the conflicting parties to implement a humanitarian truce, facilitate the delivery of aid, protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, and engage in negotiations based on the “Jeddah Declaration” and relevant international resolutions and charters. These measures aim to meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people for peace, stability, and sustainable prosperity.
