HM King Hamad’s Leadership Drives Bahrain’s Democratic Reforms
His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Bahrain’s Shura Council, affirmed that the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has enabled the Kingdom of Bahrain to achieve pioneering democratic accomplishments in its journey of reform and modernization. He noted that Bahrain’s national and democratic progress has become a model at both regional and international levels, reinforcing the rule of law, parliamentary life, advanced democratic practices, and expanded political participation within a framework of freedom, justice, and equality.
Al Saleh emphasized the Council’s commitment to strengthening Bahrain’s parliamentary diplomacy and fostering partnerships and cooperative parliamentary initiatives that uphold democracy and safeguard rights and freedoms. He confirmed that the Council will continue to work with full dedication and national responsibility to contribute to further progress, translating His Majesty the King’s noble aspirations toward a brighter and more prosperous future, achieving sustainable development, advancement, and social well-being under the principles of justice, freedom, equality, human rights, and respect for the law.
On the occasion of International Day of Democracy, celebrated annually on September 15 by countries worldwide and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Al Saleh expressed his sincere gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his ongoing efforts in supporting national initiatives aimed at consolidating democratic principles. He praised the Crown Prince’s dedicated attention to legislative work, contributing to the development of Bahrain’s democratic journey and enhancing the Kingdom’s standing in regional and international forums.
Al Saleh also commended the Crown Prince’s support for initiatives and projects that strengthen democratic values and contribute to the success of the legislative authority, positioning Bahrain as a leading nation in parliamentary and legislative affairs. He affirmed that the Shura Council remains committed to sincerity, responsible action, and following the path of His Majesty the King in reform, development, and nation-building, ensuring the welfare, prosperity, and stability of the Kingdom under the wise leadership of His Majesty.
“The International Day of Democracy represents a global occasion to renew our commitment to the noble principles that protect rights, support public participation, and strengthen parliamentary work, as well as advanced democratic practices and values in societies,” said Al Saleh.
